Best compliment from a 15 year old
I was at the gas dock in Menemsha the other day. I had motored over from Westport, via Cuttyhunk, thru Quicks Hole and over to Menemsha that AM in my 20 foot Master Angler. I have no T-Top, so I was dressed a bit saltily- long sleeves, buff, big hat, etc.
I paid for the gas, tipped the kid and he said, "You heading home?" "Yeah, back to Westport", I replied. He looked at me, paused, and said "That's kind of a long way!" I just replied "It's a good hull", and smiled. Last edited by FishStretcher; 07-23-2013 at 12:03 AM. |

For those that aren't familiar with the area, that route is close to 20 miles one way across the exposed end of Buzzards Bay.
I marked a really big fish 3 miles off Menemsha Bight- the biggest echo I have ever seen on that fishfinder. It was chasing some other smaller fish. |

It's something we all feel and should remember. There might be faster hulls amongst the production boats, but there is none better "foot for foot" than what we Seacrafters have under our feet in the nasties!

I agree, especially since my buddy Boots and I went 35 miles to the "Point" off Hatteras last Tuesday out of Oregon Inlet. Got kinda rough at the tide convergence, but, we had a spectacular ride!

I like to say that the boat can take WAY more than I want to be out in. Which is nice to know when your going home in a steep, tight 2-3ft chop and 10+mph winds or worse! And my kidneys dont hate me when I get there!
