Default timing & luck went my way today!

As I was doing my normal daily Craigslist skimming I saw a add for a free boat with a dual axel trailer. Most of the time its a free boat if you buy the trailer but this time it was both boat and trailer free. It was only listed 10 minutes after I viewed it so i figured i had a chance at it maybe. Sent an email and got a call back at lunch saying to come get it if i wanted it, I was first to respond along with 25 others in the first hour. No picture and less than a hour away so i took a ride. I figured in fair condition the trailer would be good for one of my trailer less seacrafts. Well here it is, I feel so lucky and blessed to time this one out just right. The trailer was a 2007 aluminum and the boat nice as well. It even had a seastar hydraulic steering set up on it ram and all! Name: 20140322_173102.jpg

No papers, that's why he gave it away. He came from Louisiana and did not get them transferred. He tried to donate it to a local college but they would not take it due to that reason. I'm keeping the trailer and don't need a title due to all the permanent NC tags I got already. Don't know what to do with the 22' Flats boat, I already have a 22' Mitch Craft flatsmaster and they are almost the same hull. The owner did write me a full bill of sale and I could apply to get one if needed but not to worried about it.

By the way, with any kind of bill of sale you should be able to get title done. State to state will be a bit difficult, but not impossible. I helped the pres of our company do this even though he had lost three titles and moved to three States in five years without any transfers or renewals. Old registration, yada yada. I also titled a trailer in California once without a title. The DMV could find no visible VIN so had to take it to CHP to get it tagged.
