Can i handle this?

Hi all new to the forum but i have been reading alot of builds, ive never done any work on boats or with fiberglass or epoxy or anything but building a boat is something ive dreamed of for a while now, i want to build a 20sf with the open gunnel and a bracket, ive read of people using normal plywood from home depot instead of marine ply or okume because the epoxy seals it up anyway. I dont have alot of money for this project so what im asking is is it possible to do this project at my skill level for around 6000 not including the motor or electronics just decks, transom, bracket, fuel tank, and other stuff, im sorry in advanced if i come off as an idiot i dont know all that much about boat restoration but would like to learn

I'm with the dang Aguq Clara transplanted "tarheal", Jimbo. It depends on the "Fit and Finish" you are looking for. If you are hung up on the dingle balls on the tee top matching your boot strip you might be pressed to bring it in "within budget". If you'er good with roller finished gel-coat you can fly to Panama for a week with what's left over. Break out the Tyveck and and angle grinder and party on. The Bayliner crowd at the ramp will still be in awe.

For 6k you should be able to use good marine ply with decent resin and still have some $ left over if you are patient. I've been able to get pretty good pricing on almost everything for my 23 and could have saved some by using plywood instead of Coosa. Use the internet to research prices before you pull the trigger and don't go farther than you have to on anything. Spend money on whats important and can't be redone later. Enjoy the build and don't stress the schedule.
