Default Hull Identification number -location?

Hello to all. Thank you for the wealth of information you provide for Seacraft owners. I hope to own a Seacraft in the near future. I am looking at a 1983 23 Seacraft and cannot locate the HID#. The HID is not on the transom. The transom was closed and hermco bracket installed years ago. The vin could have been taken off during this process. Is there another location I can possibly find it? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

The HIN would be on the upper right hand corner of the transom. During the over haul they may of filled it in and glassed or faired over it. Look on the tittle or registration and see if it shows up there. I don't think you will find it on the boat any where else unless you are lucky.

Have to agree with Fiz here. I have been restoring a 74 and right down to the stringers with no trace of any hull ID#s anywhere on anything other than upper right corner of the transom. Yours probably got buried during refinish.
