transducer selection
Hi , looking for opinions on transducer selection for my furuno 12 tz touch plotter/sounder. I am not interested in chirp at the moment. I will be using the internal sounder on the unit. I have been looking at the airmar B60 or the airmar transom mount tm 260. I will be mostly fishing under 100 ft, depths wreck and reef fishing and occasional troliing for striped bass. My boat is a single outboard 23 scepter off of long island ny.

I am a little surprised that unit does not have a chirp compatible sonar module for that price point. Their 50/200khz processing is very impressive so the B60 should cover all the bases. The 260 transom mount is a beast and before I would hang that off the back I would go with a tilted 264n pair. Lots of $$$$ in the last two options. I would go with the b60 and spend my money later on what's coming down the road.

thanks, that was my first thought, just get the B60 and use it for a season. My previous boat 25 blackfin , I purchased a simrad nss 8, nss 12, side scan and a B175 chirp transducer. Spent a lot of dough was not happy at all., Going back to furuno on this build.

I have been a JRC fan for a long, long time in the fishfinder department but my new Garmin set up is really starting to grow on me. I dropped a considerable amount of coin on my system with a 7610xsv but the imagery is incredible and the capability of running 200/50, broadband chirp and sidevu from one unit at the same time is compressive to say the least.
