Coast Guard request for Certificate of Compliance

Looking for help and guidance please..

A USCG inspection of my 25 Seacraft (2001) found that I am lacking a "certificate of compliance" since their regs state that any boat built after 8/1/1978 and having a "closed fuel tank compartment" must display a "certificate of compliance".
I was told this is the same thing as the standard mfg's. placard which confirms max passenger capacity etc.

I could not find any such placard on my boat and the boat has not been rebuilt. Can anyone confirm where this placard would normally be found (suspect somewhere on the console), or where I could go to obtain the placard ("cert. of compliance" for my particular model.

Thanks to all who might be able to help on this, since the C.G. stated that they may make the boat stay in port without it.

Unfortunately I poured thru e-Bay to no avail.
This is a little disconcerting for me and perhaps should be for other post 8/1/78 built boat owners with closed fuel tank compartments. Again, I was told today by a USCG inspector that a boat without the compliance placard from the mfg. on display is in violation and subject to a "return to port order". My guess is that hundreds, if not more, boats like rebuilt and non rebuilt Seacrafts like mine simply don't or no longer have the compliance placard. This issue of course is not limited to just Seacraft. I don't know if this might have insurance implications and wouldn't want to find out the hard way.

So, I am still wondering if there is a place to get the placard. Is there a Seacraft support center anywhere that could assist with getting the model placard issued?

Any help (or comments) would be most appreciated.

Trophy shop.

My `89 20 is rated for 235 and they don't blink an eye.
Placard says nothing about fuel tank.

I believe that is only for IB and IO power.

My factory placard states O/B model.

I thought the regulations specified only boats 20' and UNDER are required to have capacity plates...
Pretty sure thats the case. Or at least it was. Maybe the regulation has changed?

"Under the U.S. Coast Guard Federal Boat Safety Act of 1971, boats less than 20 feet powered with an inboard, outboard, or stern drive engine manufactured after November 1, 1972, must display a capacity plate defining the safe load limits. This plate must be mounted where you can see it when preparing to get underway."

FWIW here is the capacity sticker for my '76 Seafari in case someone wants to duplicate it. It is located under the helm. It reads:
Max HP 175
Max weight capacity in persons 900 lbs
Max weight capacity persons, motor and gear 1162 lbs

Guessing my Merc 150 tower of power weighed about 300#, bet we frequently exceeded 1162#, with the skis, coolers, gear, etc. Not to mention those boats loaded up for multiday trips. My current ETEC 150 is 418#.
