PICS!! Before and After: 233 Formula rewire
Just throwing up a couple before and after pics of a rewire I did to a 233 Formula.
The owner complained that one of his trim tabs didn’t work, the other worked randomly, his vhf never got more than 1 mile, his garmins would turn off randomly and he just wanted everything to work and be reliable as he does big offshore spearfishing trips with his buddy’s and occasional bahama trips. Quoted him 25 hours to replaced what needed to be replaced and make things work.... landed up completeing the job in 28 hours, replaced almost every single wire that could be other than factory cables and removed everything from the dash and sealed down with silicone. |

Thought process:
If you look at the left of the pic/console, you will notice the engine harness. On the right hand side the hydraulic hoses for steering. We tried to keep the electronics/wiring separate too so if one aspect needed to be addressed, it was some what segregated (short of cutting 2 zipties to separate steering lines from wiring). Also, I hate seeing 10 different wires coming off a battery (which does not meet ABYC standards) so when it comes to changing batteries it is only one wire on each post - simple! The float switch hot/bilge pump comes off the batteryswitch and we installed a negative post, tying all the grounds together. If anybody has any questions marine electronics related, please dont hesitate to give me a shout and I will be happy to help in any way! P.S. sorry about some of the rotated pics! Just turn your head |

wiring looks real nice. He needs to spring for some NEW batteries. Did the wiring job fix the Garmin issue powering off?
