Good Day Fishing
Took my son in law out for a little grouper fishing. Went out about 22 miles in the GOM...caught a lot of fish kept 2 for dinner.

I did not know that Gag Grouper season had opened yet. Is it not as far north as Hernando County? My FWC has not alerted me, nor of my upcoming license renewal. Just curious.

Makes sense. Thanks Don. Same fish as a Strawberry?

If you go to google images and check out gag and red grouper you will see the difference. Reds have spots all over gags, are more camouflage looking. My fish did not turn "red" until a little later.

Thanks! Just getting into GOM fishing. Spent my whole life from Cape Cod to the Keys Atlantic side. And not many Grouper.

Good Job Terry! Glad to see there are still some reds in the Gulf. The red tide wiped them out up here 6 years ago and we are just starting to see a few small one again.
