Default 23 Bow Rise

A friend of mine recently bought a 1987 Seacraft CC. The boat is an absolute gem. No bottom paint and not a single stress crack. It also has a Suzuki 250 on an Armstrong bracket (non floatation).

When you first accelerate the bow rises up quite a bit before laying down. The boat rides well once underway but I am wondering if the bow rise is normal for this boat?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Rob

OOPS - just realized its a DF250 on a nonfloatation bracket.
I deleted comment about the AV plate position.
Tabs might help but he probably needs a floatation bracket

The problem is 650lbs on a 3ft lever.

flotation brackets have more surface area and act like a giant trim tab on the take off which limits bow rise.

without changing your bracket or notching the transom, here are a few suggestions that will help somewhat.

1. Redistribute weight. (move weight forward, lower the better)
2. Add wedges
3. Use a sternlifting prop like Mirage Plus or Rev4
4. Install a Permatrim or Cobra marine plate

5. GIANT trim tabs
