I'm in the process of replacing the gas tank platform and bulkhead(s) in my 89 Sceptre. It only had one bulk head. It was aft of the gas tank. Is that right? Seems like there should be one forward of the tank as well and maybe at the cabin door too.
I forgot to measure the thickness of the gas tank platform. Is it 1/2" or 3/4"? I'm also re-tabbing the stringers to the hull. That's the real reason the boat is ripped apart. Thanks for any help! |

'89 was not a Potter Hull. Who knows what Tracker was doing at what years?

Fair enough. What did they use in the Potter builds? That would be good for reference.

I’m just about done with the stringer repairs. Next up is the gas tank platform and new bulk heads |

My 89 WA had 3/4” plywood bed & bulkheads - all rotted to various degrees. If you’re not foaming the tank in ( highly discourage this method), you really don’t need the fore & aft ones. If you secure your tank adequately, you should be fine. On the other hand, they are small, don’t use up a lot of material, so probably wouldn’t hurt.

How many bulkheads did it have? I'm going to install 3, one fore and aft of the tank and one at the cabin entrance. That'll give me a small storage compartment.
I'm going to use neoprene strips 5200'd to the bottom of the tank and secure the flanges to the stringers. Thanks |

I cut strips of starboard and 5200 them under my tank was afraid to go with something that might absorb water against the tank
