Wheel puller

Anyone know where I can get a steering wheel puller? The wheel on my Seabird is stuck pretty good. I've tried hammering to loosen it up, but no dice.

Try your local engine mechanic. I borrowed one from the guy who does my engine work and then returned it that afternoon about quitting time with a brewski attached. He was quite happy [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

I think you can get a cheep universal kit at CAP parts store. Or make one up out of odds and ends. Scotty.

If you have an Auto Zone in your area they rent them.

Thanks for the help guys. I looked on Sears' web site and they have one for only $19.99. The only thing with theirs is that somehow 2 bolts mount through the wheel hub. I don't know if this will work with my steering wheel. I'll probably buy it, try it, and if it doesn't work, return it. I do have an Auto Zone close by, so I'll give them a shot if the Sears thing doesn't work out.

If your not going to keep the wheel try a large gear puller.

ScottM...I dont mean to shanghai your thread here..When I removed my center cap on my wheel I noticed that the single nut and shaft were kinda rusted. How do you keep the shaft from turning when you put a socket on the nut.? I'd like to replace the nut and is it possible to replace the shaft ?

No problem catman. I held on to the wheel and turned the nut with a ratchet, although the shaft wasn't rusted. If you can't do both at the same time, get someone to hold the wheel for you.
