Trailer Question - spec and set up needed

That's a good question. My guess is that's it's a pair of 2 x 6's, but respectfully, would rather not cut the carpet to find out. To get the taper to fit the hull, it's easier to get the angle with a table saw on a 2x. That's a tough rip on a 4x6.

By the way, the bunk on the 20 is a 2 x 4 on the flat...

Ya'know, I didn't even think of the angle of the bunk - lengthwise - I'm glad you mentioned it. What angle would that be, approximately ?

I think, whatever the angle of the hull is there, should mirror the angle that would need to be cut into the bunk ?

Any ideas ?

Sorry for all the details I need. Your bunks - are they 8", because they sure look bigger than 6" ?

And, the pix does not show it, but does the bunk sit directly on top of the trailer cross member, or is elevated from the trailer and held in place by the galvanized bracket ? Are there two brackets sandwiching the bunks in place, or just the one ?

I will be copying your set-up exactly, that's why I need to be so precise. I have no other comparison.

Yes, you're right, the bunks are 8" and appear to be one piece of wood. I don't know the angle of the middle step of the 23' hull. Somebody help me out here. Here are a couple more images that should answer you questions.




I'll be pleased to pull the boat out into some daylight and take better images of this set-up, if you wish and I'll email a bunch of high-res.

I have to make one comment here. After crawling under the trailer to get these images, you really can appreciate the design and how awesome these hulls really are. I am so thankful...

THANK YOU ! My trailer is a P.O.S. compared to yours. Hopefully with a little work, my trailer will function properly and be useful the 2x times a year I need it.

My question is I've seen 4X6 bunks on trailers and rollers on trailers instead of bunks. Which is better in the long run? Is it a matter of personal preference? Or what you can afford at the time?
