Default livewell

Can anyone explain how the original "freeflow" livewells worked on the 20's? Is there a better way to rig it? Thanks.

I'm anxious to hear some answers to that question as well.

Not sure how it was originally rigged, but mine was modified to section off the livewell at the aft end of the well. I drilled a hole in the bottom of this section and installed a bildge pump.
It was designed for a livewell so it came with a screw on screen for the baitwell side. It pumps the water out through a hose that runs through the actual bildge and through the port side of the boat well above the waterline. I just open the four plugs and let it "freeflow".
The only problems with this system is that the plugs pop out unintentionally when I am running fast. I could probably fix this with some new plugs but I am too lazy too buy them.

I can post photos if you are interested.
