fuel tank setup HELP
Hello folks
Can't thank you all enough for the tremendous help you provide. Another question regarding my project. I have re done the fuel tank deck and plan on installing two small aluminum fuel tanks with the suggestions provided on this website. I plan on using two 39 gallon tanks. I was thinking of placing them as far forward on the fuel deck as possible in view of the extra weight the new four stroke 225 will produce. any suggestions on this matter would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance/ Have fun in the sun Eirc23 |

Re: fuel tank setup HELP
Welcome Eric – any particular reason you are going with two 39 gal tanks instead of one say 80-100 gallon tank?
How much does your 225 four stroke weigh? There are guys with twins 150s and single 250s that (to my knowledge) have not had issues with the standard 100 gal tank placement. The main issue I see with 2 smaller tanks would be the routing of the vent and fill hoses for two tanks in the single tank area.

Re: fuel tank setup HELP
I was thinking of two fuel tanks to avoid problems with contamination. My theory being that having the ability to change tanks may provide a quick fix when fuel becomes a problem. I plan to repower with a single yamaha f225. I believe the engine weight is 583 lbs.

Will you be going to 2 diffrent gas station's to fill each one? I'm betting you will not. Therefore it cut's deep into the idea of 2 tank's for the purpose you stated. |
