Seacraft Friendly Shop NE?
I have recently moved into the Long Island area and am looking for a shop to do a once over on a newly acquired 76' inboard with a crusader 310. Additionally I need to reprop it and am looking for some feedback as to what would be a good pitch/size/blade combo. I am willing to drive anywhere in the northeast with it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!!!!!!

Re: Seacraft Friendly Shop NE?
welcome to the board kmodi- cant help you on a shop up there- theres a few inboard guys here- lots of prop discussion in previous threads also- the boats originally came propped with a 16-17 LH (78 year model anyway). Im currently running a 17-15. Dont waste a ton of money on a 4 blade like i did although if you are still not convinced I will see one cheap!!!!! bring on the porn (boatporn that is-)I think Gary's boat is a 76' as well- craig

Re: Seacraft Friendly Shop NE?
Thanks Miles,
I spoke with your buddy Knot Working over the phone back in June and he had some reccomendations for a guy in your area that has woked on his boat that he says is pretty good. I am new to seacrafts but just like everbody on here I am in love with them, especially inboards. I picked up my 76 on ebay for a good deal, and then matched it with a trailer. It has a 98' crusader 310 in it with an unknown amount iof hours (from what i was TOLD it is low) a vetus bow thruster and a couple of small soft spots on the deck. I am looking to get this thing running as efficantly as possible, it isnt turning the right amount of rpms to get it into its power range and is topping out at just over 20 which i think is low, it should be able to get near 30. After I get all of the drivetrain worked out i am going to weld up a small fly fishing friendly top and box to house some electronics and start fishing it hard off of LI and all over NE. All boats have there intricacies and i was hopeing to gain some insight for those who have walked on an 23 inboards deck before me. I am building an online album of the boat and will post the link shortly. Thanks for all the help! |
