Default 1975 SF20 47 Gal. Fuel Tank

Ethanol plus 31 year old tank has caused me to finish out this season with an above deck tank under my console. I would like to order a new aluminum under deck tank to replace the original tank. If anyone has done this in the past I would like to have the dimensions of the factory installed tank so I can order the tank and install it when I pull the boat at the end of October. Sketches, drawings, dimensions, tank fabricators - any and all help accepted. Thanks.

caper,

I did one a few months ago. 48 gal, aluminun. I drew up a detail in AutoCad that I converted to a .pdf and emailed to some tank vendors. I don't think I can attach a .pdf on this site, so I'll PM you the info tonight or sometime tomorrow. FWIW, the basic outside dimensions of the tank that was in my '76 20SF are 2'-0" wide, 5'-0" long and 0'-8" deep.

Caper, these guys http://www.lutherswelding.com/index.html built my tank in RI, I brought them the old tank and they built me a new one that was exactly like the original and took the old tank off my hands as well. Top notch work and the price was Half of the prices I got on Cape. It was winter and I got my new tank in two weeks for the price they quoted me. Some one on this site, who I cant seem to remember, turned me on to them and it was a big help. Nice guys to deal with and a nice tank to boot, give them a call

caper,

Sorry, I'm running late. Just got in from tuna fishing and I realized that I can't attach files to a pm to you using this sites system. Please send me a pm with your email address that I can use outside the site and I'll send you what I have regarding tank drawing and pricing.

Thanks,

Dan Cobbett.
