Default Morse control problems

I have a single morse control to operate my o/b yam. 250. I have no problem with foward shifting/throttle power. The motor shifts into reverse fine, but even with the throttle all of the way down in rev., I do not have any power. I guess its just not pulling enough cable to rev it up in reverse?? Any one have this set up, recommendations, is this typical w/this style control?? I guess the awnser would be to slow down while comming in, but I need to power to handle the boat next to oil platforms while fighting wind, current, waves. Thanks. Richard

Default Re: Morse control problems

should have some setscrews that lock in a detente - reverse may have loosened so its not engaging. Here's a couple of links.
