HeyTerry, they are both Carolina dorys. Included both just to get your creativity flowing. The second one has the motor mounted "inboard" rather than the transom. Very common in NoCal and Oregon power dorys, presumably to keep the motor out of the nets and rocks, being one less thing to jump over when beach launching.

They are rugged, stable and incredibly seaworthy while running 20 knots on 25 ponies. Not exactly a "stroker." But you'll save gas for hauling a$$ in the Moesly

I never thought I'd be a fan of Pangas but for a utility boat they sure fit the profile. A 17footer would do just about anything you want.

All of the above have potential. The only thing wrong with a Panga is that it may be out of my price range...meaning I don't want to buy a 5-10k boat...when I can get one for free, and then spend 20k on it making it my own and I can't use it for 2-5 years...LOL
