88 20 CC excessive amount of water in the bilge
Just bought my first SeaCraft! Although not a classic it fit met the condition and my budget. I have ad it out a few times and seem to be getting a lot of water in the bilge. I plugged the splash well and that doesn't leak. Plugged the scuppers and filled the drain tubes they don't leak. Finally plugged everything to see if the plugs leaked and water came out of the forward fish box drain. I removed and resealed it, but there is still lots of water. Water seams to enter even on calm days so its not coming from the deck. Can anyone point me in the right direction to correct this?

Trailer the boat and level it, then put a hose in the bilge and add 4-6 inches of water. If it's getting in it should come out somewhere when you reverse the process.

Did that and found it leaking from the forward thru hull. The fitting its self was good, but the sealant started to fail. That was the only water I was coming out of the boat.

Mine came in from the live well hoses.and live well. Not sure of your set up. But that is where mine coming from
. is the bow cracked..perhaps it is coming from om your stringers. They may be weeping water back out still..look for hairline cracks along the chines and bottom... |

Pull the thru hull and reseal. F box is a common point of ingress.

another very common location for water intrusion is the lower o/b mounting bolts.

Guys,
Word of caution. I did this on my mako and ended up putting to much water in causing my trailer springs to straighten. Fishfullthinking |
