Default Serial number

I have never thought about it, but does anyone know if the serial number of my 1972 23' is legit? I was just told because my 23 which is a 1972, and doesn't have a HIN it was built in 1971. Makes sense to me, I went down to my boat and the serial number is 2302I. Does that by chance mean it's the 2nd 23 made that year?

Looks like you have the 2nd 23ft I/O seacraft ever built.

Before 1972 HIN's were not required. This is the "serial number" from 1971 25 seacraft seafari . . . it's hull number 24.

This is pretty awesome. I guess I found one of those forever boats.... I was thinking of taking the IO out and installing a bracket... Not gonna happen now.
Thanks for all the help.
