1971 20' Seacraft restoration complete!
Back in August, a local businessman approached us about restoring a 1971 20' Seacraft that was for sale nearby. Shortly thereafter, he purchased the boat and the restoration began.
8 months later...she is complete. Project list is as follows: New transom raised to 25 inches New stern boxes and splashwell New deck raised 1 inch Hatches, casting platform and gunwales recored Original fuel tank in console removed and new 43 gallon aluminum tank installed below deck New console New carbon fiber ABS switch panel with Bocatech switches Carbon fiber ABS accent panels on rod lockers New Buck Woodcraft anchor locker and console hatches New Armstrong waterproof bilge hatch New Gemlux rod holders and hardware New Rubrail with stainless insert New Fusion stereo with JBL speakers New NorthStar AGM battery and Guest charger All new wiring and plumbing Decks, gunwales, bilge and anchor locker regelcoated Hull primed with high build and painted with Awlcraft Whisper Gray and metallic gray bootstripe New Seacraft emblems New LoadRite Elite trailer New Suzuki DF140 |

Thanks, Mitch. While I chipped in a bit here and there, for the most part I was the project manager. We have a team of very talented people that are truly responsible for the results.

Console
Looks great. Is it a self bailing deck that was only raised one inch?
Where did the console come from? Is it narrower then a stock console? |

Rybones-
We float tested the boat in January after the deck was raised (but before the finish work was done) with the engine installed and with three guys on board. With all of that weight on board the scuppers are still two inches above the water line. We then poured a couple of 5 gallon buckets of water on the deck and the water flowed aft out the scuppers like it should. The owner bought the console from Marine Connection Liquidators in Ft. Pierce. It only had core material where the binnacle mounts, so we had to core the rest of the console, gelcoat the inside and then gelcoat the outside to match the deck & gunwales. Lastly, a "coke bottle" green 1/4 inch windscreen with a 7 inch radius on the corners will be arriving to finish off the console. |
