Long term SeaCraft owners

I took delivery of my ‘76 20’ Seafari from Brown and Hauptner Marine in PBG Fla in June 1976. Am not looking for an list, but wondering if there are any original owners that surpass my 45 years of SeaCraft ownership and the pleasures it brought three generations of my family and still does?

My father & I also bought our first SeaCraft new from Brown & Hauptner in PBG. 1973 20' with a 175HP Evinrude OB. Had a Ray Marine Flasber Depth Recorder & a CB Radio. Kept it at Conch Cove Marina indoor storage in Jupiter. Sad faith as it, the boat was completely destroyed when the entire bldg burnt to the ground . I think '75 or '76. Anyway , we then owned a 20' Dusky that was a POS.
Then I got lucky and snatched my '78 23' Superfish in 1985 (2nd owner) reluctantly, do too medical reasons she found a new owner in 2015. Combined ownership 33 years.

My first year of ownership was 2001…. 2 1/2 decades later! My parents purchased an 18 SF (their first SeaCraft) in the late 90s based on my advice. it took me about 20 years from my first ride as a 12-year-old kid on a 20 SF in the Loxahatchee River in northern Palm Beach County to buying my first boat here on the West Coast to Florida in 2001. That ride in 1982 closed the deal for me.

I remember the Conch Cove fire as well! What a tragedy. As a kid buzzing around in my 14 foot alumacraft with 25 horse Johnson, I remember pulling up multiple times and walking around The waterfront at the burned down marina. There were 235 Evinrude engine cowlings sitting half burnt on the concrete ground right next to the water. The place smelled of burn fiberglass.

In 1976 before kids we purchased our 20’ Seafari, to troll offshore of PB, ski and snorkel. Our son and daughter grew up doing these, but more watersports. In the last three years we have introduced our two grands to these watersports during their summer visits. We, our kids and grands just celebrated one of our best vacations where we rented a SC home for a week on Lake Hartwell. The boy 7 and girl 9, quickly progressed to riding a kneeboard on their knees instead of belly boarding, and skied easily off of our boom. One of the long lasting memories will be towing my grandson on a kneeboard through a school of herring. He exclaimed “one fish hit me in the face and I had to knock a couple off my board”. It was a combo of fight and delight for him. So thanks to our SeaCraft for continuing to provide pleasure and great memories!

Terry, I'm not up there in your long term SeaCraft ownership. I bought my first new in 1985, near Rio (18') and sold it to a friend in Key Largo when I bought my used 23 in 1993. My friend sold the 18 to his friend in Miami and I heard that guy sold it to a guy in South Carolina. Kind of get attached to rides after such a long time. I still own my first new car, a Plymouth, that just turned 50 this year.

Terry even Jim up in Columbia, SC can't touch you, his family bought theirs after you. His is a '77, your '76 has him buy a year.

That’s true!

We bought ours brand new at the Miami Boat Show in Spring 1977 with a high tech new marvel of an engine - Johnson 200-V6

Ron- Guess I keep things I like or love a long time:
Anita- almost 51 years of marriage
Seafari- 45 years
4Runner- 18 years and 220k miles
Corvettes- 34 years total including a '61 and a '65 for a couple years each and a '68 (all consecutively, but not simultaneously owned)

I can't touch a few of you. 1978 23' Sceptre that my father bought new from Millway Marine, Barnstable Harbor, MA. Original buyer refused delivery thanks to the boat being shipped with wrong color on seats and coaming padding, lucky for us.
