Fishtale, Where is this fellow located?? I just had my 20 redone by Target 25, in Magnolia Park across from Venture.
He used awlgrip, I got a real deal from him because he redid everything on the boat, floors, tank, drains etc.But he normally charges 4K for the interior and 2K for the hull. Thats prep, blocking and paint.
When is your boat going to be ready?

I had quotes from $4,000 to $6,000 to do my whole boat in and out by professional boat only painters approx 3 years ago. Decided to do it myself with the roll and tip method cost me approx $1,000 and came out pretty good used Sterling Paint.

Just a thought: sometimes the cheapest option can end up costing more in the long run.

Bobber,

this guy is located in the acreage out west past beeline hwy and coconut blvd. and in response to Mark, i didn't choose the cheapest route to have the boat redone. I have some pics to show the boat's progress and i'll post them as soon as i can organize them. i was just there today see the boat and to choose the color. And by-the-way the paint he will be using will be from Mobil Paints Industries, called Mothane it's a two part poly-urethane. If anyone thinks the paint brand is moderate please let me know. Ihave another week before paint job.

as far as redoing the boat for what needs to be done and paint job(inside-out)and a 50gal. aluminum tank, new center console and livewell, all comes out to approx. $4,400. I think it's a fair price to pay. In my opinion, from what i've seen so far, this guy is doing a great job!

I'll post some pics and you be the judge!

MArk,

the interior will be gelcoated, not painted with Mothane like the exterior.

Basically some of the work being done is patching holes, some glassing here and there, rod holders, some transom work, sides reinforcements, and some soft spots on floor and cap as well, and of course paint job. I saved him some labor by striping down the boat of all hardwares, doors, rubrails, and electricals. i brought the boat bare, except the engine, too heavy!! this guy will work with you to save time and money if you wanted to. I'll post the pics soon!

Call Jose at Princeton Boatworks (Princeton FL near Homestead, FL). He used to work for Bill Potter when the Factory was in Princeton. I have heard nothing but good about him and I am now taking my boat there to be finished. Do not go to Creative Fiberglass. I had the worst experience with him.
