That in itself is enough to turn me off, I think I'll look for one with the transom work already done.

I still think at $12,500, with that motor it's a good buy. It looks like you can use it now and do upgrades down the road, provided there are no serious flaws.-PF

if he advertised it for 10 he should be required to sell it for 10, Anything stuck on the outside of a transom like that is a patch job. If a person will patch a transom you allready know the shape of the tank, the coring in the floors, wiring, trailer. You more than likly be looking a a total rebiuld. Les

When the ad said transom done with "all composite materials" that should mean the interior wood of the transom was eliminated and replaced with either a pourable cast transom, high density foam, corecell, klegcell or one of the others. If the transom was done correctly, there would be no need for starboard on the outside. I think it's an aluminum plate with awlgrip from the pix.

There is no mention of electronics, interior condition or deck solidity. See it, try it before you buy it. Sounds like a shakey salesman. Talk with the actual owner and get paperwork for the transom repair or talk with the shop that did the work. IMO the hull is most important, not the motor.
