Re: $821.00 Turn Key Tsunami !!
Awesome,it's bringing back memories of my tsunami, all the same, even the glove compartment door.
I'm looking forward to the thing crapping out ,only because I can't wait to see how great it will look after your craftsmanship. I hope you'll keep us all up to date, when that time comes.I'm looking forward to the restoration.

Re: $821.00 Turn Key Tsunami !!
Nice pick up.
The 327 is a heck of a hard motor to blow up. I think I've got a few more than 10 hrs on mine. Looks like she's pumping lots of oil up top. Does this mean the Seafari is on the backburner?...Man I'm looking forward to that restore |

If we know Strick, that OMC is not long for this earth. Karnak says, "OMC outdrive", The question is, "What is the newest addition to the local DUMP?"
BUT, I think there might be a 25" Tsunami with a 327 CID engine pushing out 350-375 HP in Strick's future, or there SHOULD be! Talk about a balanced "Wave Crusher!" Wait a second, I think there may be an appropriate boat name in the making.

Maybe the 327 pushing through a Volvo Duoprop drive with "Wave Doc" arching across above it!

Re: $821.00 Turn Key Tsunami !!
I don't know! The pictures of the guy with a stocking cap on doesn't look like Strick. The last picture with the guy in the ball cap does! Let me see, that big striper looks to be held by a guy with a stocking cap on.
Strick, I would talk to someone who is going to be able to tell you if two big of boards on the back of the 25 might be a little too stern heavy. I don't know what the tankage looks like on the 25, but my 23 scepter with 140 gallon tank and 1200 pounds of motor and outdrive seems pretty heavy in the stern. I haven't looked at a stern lifting prop yet. When I get it back up and running, I plan to split the single 140 gallon tank into two tanks in line fore and aft. The rear tank will remain empty unless I plan to need a lot of fuel on board in for a long run. I figure my range is 3 to 400 miles now and I don't need that much fuel on many, if any trips. A full day out 50 miles and a lot of trolling might burn 70 gallons. However, if I was going to do a trip down to New York and didn't want to stop, I might put all 140 on board. At about 7 pounds per gallon, 140 gallons is around 1000 pounds and that's a lot of weight to be pushing around if you don't need it. You might want to think about the same issues. Further, a Duoprop is about 10% more efficient, but at the cost differential at purchase and 1200 dollars for a set of props in case you ding something, you'd have to burn off a lot a gas to justify the cost. The Volvo Penta AQ 290 outdrives or very reliable and last forever. I plan to call Volvo and ask what the Max horsepower those 290 drives can handle. I think it's probably 350 or more. That would be more than adequate for me. Further, if you are thinking two new big outboards, you might be able to find a decent used diesel, maybe even new NOS in today's market. Just my 2¢!
