Kenny uses 2nmpg as a reference for planning long rang dive trips. The boat will easily achieve 2.5nmpg at 27-28K with full fuel and a heavy dive load. I've seen it at 2.8-2.9nmpg at 25K. The 250 Suzukis are a bullet proof engine. Kenny's has made a believer out of me.

I have the Suzuki 16X23 3 blade SS prop that came with the motor. I maybe could use to go down an inch or 2 pitch. Full load I get 5400 rpm, light can turn up to 6000rpm. But I'm so happy with the performance that I hate to screw with it.

I have the same prop for a spare that I had general knock down 2". If you want to give it a try I'll be glad to let you use it.
5400 is pretty low on the top end loaded. If you are seeing the tach surge in seas you are likely over propped. These motors like the higher rpm range and I was advised by my favorite tech that lugging these motors is not whats best for them. Speed on a empty boat is cool but holding tough in seas with a full load is what I prop for. The right prop for my set up is 16x20x3.

Well I pulled the trigger Saturday on a new 300AP. Looking forward to loading up for an offshore run with this thing pushing us. Anyone need a thirty inch 225 Optimax?
