Capt Terry I plan to use the Teleflex Ultraflex... they work really good in tight turns and are super smooth !!! I have merc stuff ill be pulling off for another boat in the yard ....
Oops I was unclear.

Sorry, I meant they are $100 new. And it was a suggestion for one to use. I got mine at boats.net but I don't recommend them as a retailer- slow to ship.

But actually a bit under $100 there. If I asked $100 used that would be taking advantage of you!

Plus, I don't think my Yamaha splined ones would fit your etec?

Default ETEC throttle cable

Rusty-
One other thing to think through on the throttle cable hookup is my 2012 ETEC 150 HO, to accelerate the cable pushes on the engine throttle lever. I think all Mercs are like my 1985 Merc 150 where the cable pulls on the engine throttle lever. I discovered this when I adapted a PerfectPass speed control to fit on the ETEC. It was more difficult than on a Merc because PerfectPass is based on pull on the engine throttle like for the automobile-style throttle linkage on inboard watersport boats. Good luck with your new ETEC- quiet, quick starting, and fuel thrifty!

Terry
very cool !! thank you !! it will come with a binnacle... I just have to purchase cables... I can get OMC.. but because I am not getting them with the motor I am going to use the super slick Teleflex for tight radius ... I used tem when I replaced my mercury cables and they are AMAZINGLY smooth compared to OEM / standard merc....
FishStretcher
are they Stainless... I looked for them on boats.net... no joy.... hit ebay and damn the prices are higher than I remember !! But I haven't bought a prop in a while...
If yours is SS I think they actually may work and if you would like to part with the 17 I am VERY interested !!

LOL... the GG never smiles and if you look close he really looks like Walter ( jeff dunhams puppet ) !!

and Im SUPER stoked on the JohnyRude !!! Emailed back and forth with propgods ( Ken ) and he recommended the mercury enertia 3b 17.... should se mid to upper 30knt topend range ... that will raise my cruise to mid 20's !! But he also said since I carry heavy loads I might wan to drop to a 16"... which is what I currently run on my OLD mariner.. so im am torn between the 16 and 17..... I was stuck on the 4b but after the recommendation from Ken and Denny ... looks like a 3b...

A 4B might not be a bad idea if you eventually plan to install a bracket! (Check the e-mail I just sent you!) Denny
