Progress... Coming Along
Yesterday in the nice chilly 23 degree day i was able to remove all the hardware, side vents and old Aluminum Rub rail. The rub rail was a PIA as it had many broken screws and i am getting good at Breaking Shit easily when i get P.O'ed.
Also installed a new Neutral Switch and Neutral position sensor on the 300 zuke taking longer to remove the side cowling than to put the switches in. I am taking it over to be Re-flashed today to see if it cures the 4-2 Engine code. Once this is fixed I am selling the 300 Zuke and i am strongly considering a 400R Verado. This morning its beautiful out and the temp is hovering at 9 degrees doubt i am getting much done today. |

Last Week Udpates
Over the last week i have managed to make 2 trips to Portland Oregon which is 450 miles each way x 2 to have service on the 300 Zuke. I cannot for the life of me figure out what all the HYPE IS....
IMHO the Suzuki is one of the Biggest POS i have ever owned and at 320 hours totally ridiculous the codes these throw. I have it up and running good again and just placed it on craigslist for sale today... Going back to the Verado... Also got the Rub Rail off this week and started grinding out small cracks and spider webs with the dremel.... It's Chilly here now, was a light 8 degrees this morning... Wont be getting much done over the nexxt 2 weeks until the shop is ready for me to pull her into... |

I saw this boat for sale here in Florida and wondered where it went.
Seemed like a good deal at the time; sorry your finding so many problems. After seeing some of these repairs that supposedly professional shops have done down here that's why I try to do most repairs myself. Been out in CA lately otherwise I would be happy to be working on a project boat. Good luck and yeah get a warm enclosure to work in. |

I was amazed at some of the things I seen - seen from all sides "all sides" being: repairs boat owners attempted repairs other shops attempted what boat manufactures produced very few people have pride in their work ! people often get in over their head - they believe their abilities are much greater, than they truly are... Suzuki motors - not a big fan ! they're famous for corroding, seen many late model motors corroded in many different locations - seen a lot of problems in the 200/250's,including them ingesting throttle body screws. I didn't work on verado's

The only corrosion issue Suzuki had was a dissimilar metal casting plug in a 4 month production run of the early df140s. It was a big deal as it caused early failure of the midsection where the plug was. As far as the 2004 df200-250 that ingested the air throttle body screws, this was a result of a failure to apply thread locker on the screws during assembly of the plenum. This also was a single year limited run issue to which not all the year's run was affected. The stupid part of that issue was the hysteria created about the screws caused by non-Suzuki engine techs scaring Suzuki owners into paying to have the screws checked or R&R with Loctite. Part of that blame landed on Suzuki as in 2004 there were hardly any qualified service centers and techs so if you needed service it fell on unqualified techs that would turn every screw on the motor trying to "fix" things. Ask me how I know....
