I saw the tribute stuff, stunning......the 25 appeared to have the shallow steps of the potter 23, the 37 looked like the deep steps of the Moesley 21. With the deep steps I don't believe the horizontals are needed, the 21 is already extremely efficient and nothing rides as smooth, so i don't want to screw with a hull bottom that i have a knowing provides an outstanding ride.

I believe my new boat is cleverly named by my daughter which will be the "frigateaboutit".
She knows how significant the frigate bird is in offshore fishing. Next one may be "warbird"since that is the nickname.

Maybe 21 and 25 followed by 31???

A 31 may require widening and deepening of the hull, not ready for that just yet, but it is a dream. When you write a dream down and schedule it, it becomes real!!!

Well it is real, I just visited Joel Shine with Gulfstream composites here on the site.
What a cool guy, This is the second build where i purchased my materials from Joel.
With Joel its not just a transaction, he is so helpful, knowledgeable, accurate, and adds a tremendous amount of value/cComposites are no longer putty and paint, it is a very technical industry now.
Plus I got to see the bad ass 25 he is building from scratch, one of the many builds he has done personally.
Anyway, it is happening now that i have the materials!

I'll be watching this, too.

Regarding this bold undertaking, I am curious about the pointy end.

On the 21, Mr. Moesly shaved the gunwales at the bow, abruptly cutting down the flare and turning it upward to meet the cap. Tall as it is, this makes for a wetter boat. I am curious if this had hydro or aero-dynamic purposes for racing apps; or if it was structural, or simply allowed for better visibility while riding way back on the v-pad.

Is there any reason not to continue outward with the flare returning more water away? The only ride detriment I can think of (albeit valid) is getting pushed around more by a wall of water in a mixed up sea while quartering in to it.

Any thoughts or insight in this?
