So if you have ball checks there that would imply that the deck scuppers run through the rear, hence deck work of some sort has been done..? Although also see what looks to be small original self bailing deck scupper wells, albeit covered in leaves in one of the pictures you posted. Anybody have an idea whats going on there? Did they just close up the original scupper port on bottom and rout it to a hose through the transom? (maybe the cap was off but whatever was done was just phoned in).

Well you got me I just assumed they where just a screw on kit. I did not realize they original went thru the bottom I know for sure at some point the rear cap was cut to repair the transom cause I can see it cut in the cap. The Shop 2 guy said they used "high quality glass" and did a good job from the inside. Both the deck scupper wells and bilge run out the transom.

The dude I got it from I think said the guy before him i think did the transom and he pulled the whole cap to repair floors.

Been a few week but finally got so forward motion on the boat. The fiberglass guy has been super nice and helpful.

First the motor looks good about 120 psi on the compression test. The wiring was a mess and the motor is mix of 3 different years so prob had a head swap.

Then dropped the boat in the water to check for leaks and ran the motor but due to fear over how the steering was set up, ( one link arm and the brackets where screwed in to transom not bolted) he did not go far lol. So I went head and got a Baystar hydraulic steering kit.

Had a scupper leak, (fixed with new hose) but no other leaks found.

Even though the transom was sold it had a ton of holes and cracks so we went a head cleaned and glassed it up BUT once she was lifted he spotted about 5in flat spot in the keel that is not leaking yet but damn close.

Looks like its from poor trailer set up in the past so im going to read up on extending the bunks as currently to much weight is sitting on the rollers. If anyone has suggestions im all ears.

Looks like Bandaide work which is fine as long as you are good with it not being a long term fix.

Yeah he glassed the keel then gelcoat. He did say sanding it was a nightmare lol.

The trailer is looking like Im going to grind off the rollers and just do forward bunks, at least thats the gist I got from the threads I read.

Yeah im 100% cool with it for now, I got lucky with the boat Id been looking for a cheep under 23ft that the wife and I could do over night trips on and but could do rivers and coastal diving. I honestly just kinda gave up on the dream boat till I found this lady and then got sucked into the classic seacraft world. I think down the road ill be on the look out for a seafari but for now im just stoked on a epic boat with a great community behind it. Plus I paid less then 3k for it and the fiber glass shop is willing to work some in trade so im not feeling the like ive made a horrible choice.... yet.
