Agree with Don. It's not that difficult to wire the boat.... working on broken engines is another thing.

With work and the rain and heat it's been slow going.
I finally finished connecting the steering and drilled the holes for the key switch today. I ran the 2 cables from the battery switch to the engine along with the shift cables, gas line and harness. Looks like the oil tank is going under the console. It's the bigger of the one's they offer and it could only go in the bilge area and it would take up a lot of space, and it would keep the pump in a wet area and would rust it and fail somewhere down the line. Still waiting for the binnacle I ordered on ebay. When I left I realized I need to seal up the 4 bolts that hold the engine on the transom.. Still need to wire all the accessories or have someone that is reasonable do it. Meanwhile I continue to buy and collect all the goodies I need |

While deciding where to place the oil tank under the console I realized that I don't have the bracket. A quick look on Google and saw that it was $100 +. The heck with that. Had a piece of aluminum and cut a piece of PVC board and made my own bracket. Total cost maybe $10 bucks. Happy how it came out.

We the Admiral being out of town for a few days I was able to order a lot of part and get them delivered to the house. Also I was able to bring the boat from where it's parked to my house and work on it there, and with the heat it's nice to be able to come inside ad cool off.
Hers a small list of things I did so far. Installed the VHF and Radio , have not bought the Garmin just in case a new- better options come out. Ran the harness, shift cables, battery cables and oil cable back to the engine. Installed the ignition switch and waiting for the binnacle to be delivered. At least the trim on the engine works. Not happy with the bolts that hold the engine on the transom some are longer than others so tommorow I'll get 4 new one's. Got a nice deal on a Salt Water series prop with what I hope is the correct pitch...19 inch...for $150 in pretty good shape.. put in the pump for the live well even though the well is not ready. And installed the hoses for the trim still waiting to install the pump. An boy was it hot today!! |
