Pretty sure the Kennedys could get just about anything they wanted.

Your Sceptre is the nicest I've ever been on. I remember sitting on the back talking with you (that's me on the engine cover) after your rough water ride up to the Jazz Fest in 05......

Very nice to hear from you and I remember that day well; used my large friend as movable ballast on that run. Thank you for the kind words, means a lot coming from you and the SC's you have been on - hope not to upset KMoose or any other members that have invested blood, sweat & tears in theirs ;-) |

DoozleD, I just repowered my 1974, 20' SC with a 4 stroke 115 Yamaha and I am concerned about the weight. It weighs considerably more than my 115 2 stroke Johnson or guessing about 60 lbs heavier. Assuming your 175 was a 2 stroke, was weight an issue? They should be comparable. When I have about 3 adults or about 450 lbs hanging around the console, water is only a few inches below the engine well. Did you have to do anything like adding weight in the bow? I am going to try a 13.2 gal water bladder or about 105 lbs in the dry storage compartment. Any info would be appreciated?

The 175 (evinrude e-tec) was on a costumes boat. If i remember he redid the transom to 25in? I never ran the boat. My 20 had a 115 yamaha fore
stroke on it when i bought it. I still have a 20 inch transom. I went to the 115 evinrude for the weight savings I think there was a 80lb diff? The two stroke has WAY more torque than the yamaha! |

Mass. still allows you to pick your registration #s as long as they're not already taken.
That Jazz Fest raft-up was a great time indeed. |
