Default Edson Wheel

I just ordered a 16" SS Edson wheel with the suicide knob and comfort grip for my boat today. Any of you guys have one of these? i can't wait to put it on, my boat currently has a destroyer style wheel, but she has been begging for the Edson fro a while now. I'll put some pics of it soon after I finish my teak dash.

I had an all aluminum Edson with the edson wheel knob on an old boat and it was nice. I put a Release Marine 3 spoke aluminum wheel with a knob on my SeaCraft and I like it but the Edson suicide knob was much nicer. I think edson has delrin bearings in it or something like that. They are the best, and only 5 mins from my office in New Bedford

Very interested to hear what you think of the "comfort grip". I've had my eyes on the SS version, only in the 13” version ... I think they are even making a 14.5" wheel now.

Have you noticed …. Gemlux has the SS look alike then recently came out with a brushed SS so as to look like Aluminum …
Edson has aluminum … now comes out with a Polished SS.

The Gemlux single spoke Bluewater wheel has also caught my eye ….It retails at something around $600 …. I don’t think so

I am looking at a 16 inch Edson wheel.

I believe that the one that I know of for sale locally comes with a 3/4 inch taper and a 5/8 nut.

I guess that I have I will have to pop/unglue the teak top to my SeaStar helm unit to see if it is compatible.
