Default A little help needed - drainage side compartments

Hey Guys,

Upon opening my side compartment hatch on the port side I noticed that there was about 10 gallons of water there with no where to go. Do you know how those side comparments drain?
I opened the other side comparment hatch to get a better view (no cables and wires blocking my view) of the drainage system and noticed a rubber tube. That appears to be how it drains into the bilge. Can anyone confirm this? Maybe the tube it obstructed by a cable on the other side.
Any tips on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

My boat is a 1984 23' CC

Thanks guys..

MM

there not removeable mine had 2, 8 inch access plates installed. I removed my cap and innerliner to redo the stringers and transom .The standing water is soaked up through the glass into the transom. That is what ate mine out, not the holes or tubes going thruogh the transom. i am currently installing fiberglass drain tubes through my stringers at the back corners to drain the rain water out. Mine did not have any drain tubes at all. Fresh water done more damage to my boat than salt. Look on page 3 under repairs/mods at salvagefirst 23. Les

Correct, mine did not have drain tubes, it always held water. if you have a floor livewell you can get to the back of the stringers drill a hole through the stringer level with the floor and add a drain tube on each side. if you look closely at my pics you will see the water standing there. the transom works like a sponge , it soaked water up all the way to the top of the transom. How did they expect that to drain? I do see a tube sticking out on the port side, so that may be a drain tube. I have to stick a hose in it an see if water trickles through to the bildge. I cant see the same tube on the starboard side because there is a lot of wires/cables obstructing my vision. Maybe its blocks on that side, I dont know. Do some SeaCrafts have drain tubes?

Do any Sea Crafts have a way to drain the side bilge compartments?
