Thanks! I can't wait to put on the finishing touches such as bolsters and a matching canvas bimini. Now all I need to do is get a little fish blood on the deck.

Very nice work - a real beauty. Congratulations - work well spent !

How are you planning to do the bolsters ? With starboard as a backing or wood ? I cut 1/4" starboard to cover the bolster area for now, until I cushion it up ( the previous owner had cut (4) 5" speaker holes in the area !!! And I did not want to fill and glass 'em ).

FYI: The 1/4" starboard I used does warp in direct sunlight and looks crappy - even though it is screwed down every (6) inches ?! I want to re-do and was wondering what you, or anyone else, would recommend. I used starboard for the "0" maintenance..

I have 2 companies that bid on my bolster job. One with wood the other with a starboard like product. They both came in at the same $$$$$$. Needless to say wood is out. I'll find out what kind of synthetic material and the thickness will be. I need to find out what whaler uses as I am going to pattern my bolsters after theirs.

Capt. Brian, I live a couple of miles from the Whaler plant
in Oak Hill. I have a couple of contacts there. I will try to find out what they use. See ya, Ken

Thanks.

I had the boat out this weekend and it was great. Everything worked perfectly. She also hit the highest top speed ever. 39 kts on the gps! Must be the clean bottom. Both 115's were turning 6100 rpm's. That's with slightly dinged aluminum props. Also I got rid of my bennet's and fit a retro kit made by Lenco. Just the electric rams which wired right up to the old bennet switch. So far I'm sold on the lenco's. They react very quickly and retract when you shut them off.
