Hello,

I have decided to join the "Restore a Classic Seacraft" group with the recent purchase of a 1972 23' CC. The boat seems to have its original console/helm seat configuration. Restoration will involve replacing the wood in the transom, floor and cap. I have restored wooden boats in my younger days but this will be my first fiberglass one. Probably will be another poster with a few (who am I kidding, lots) questions/opinions on new configuration for the boat (i.e. transom height, motor well changes, power options, etc.).

Already stripped the hardware off and have cut the rear cap off to get at the transom. The front cap and floor are next. Then the assesing of what I need to purchase to put it back together!!!!

Thanks for the engouraging words, I think i will be relying on them pretty heavy in the upcoming months.

Strick, this "Professor" likes to think and plan during the project not before so I only have a general plan for this boat. I like to use the best I can so I plan to use this forum quite a bit.

Started to remove the wood from the transom yesterday. It is going to be an interesting process. I will take up this more on the repair topic.
