fishing art - gyotaku
Didn't want to post this in for sale since it is not really SeaCraft related...or maybe it is...I need to sell to keep my project going!
I did these myself, but I'm sure most of you have seen some by "the pros" in restaurants or as fishing tourney prizes. The artform is called GYOTAKU...yep...Japanese. For those that aren't familiar, you basically paint a fish and rub a piece of handmade decorative paper over it to make the print. Ladies and gents, I'm not a pro fisherman or a pro artist, so I'm not looking to make a living here...just trying to make a buck that I can get away with spending on the boat, so if you're interested, let me know what it's worth to you. I have others that are not shown, am located in Tampa Bay area. 20" trout.... [image][/image] detail.... This one has kind of a tropical twist... [image][/image] This one has kind of a cool, subtle look..."night stalker".. [image][/image] 23" redfish... [image][/image] |

Re: fishing art - gyotaku
Didn't say it above, but all the rubbings are pro quality acrylic paints and were professionally "dry mounted" to foam board...this makes them flat and ready to frame (if you don't do this, the paper gets very wrinkled in the process of making the print).
Here is another I just finished...this one is acrylic on canvas...I might want to keep it though...I have a tough time letting go! [image][/image] |
