Florida Middle Grounds
For those of you who have asked about it, plus those who have thought about making the trip out to the Middle Grounds, I've decided to give up some GPS locations. Just remember, the Middle Grounds is 6-8 hours travel time alone round trip, so plan on being out from "can't see to can't see"
This first one I got as a diving site, as it has some great ledges and overhangs, but it also produces a lot of snapper, Red grouper, and Nassau grouper on the rod and reel, as well as on the pole spear. It also produces shovel-nose or slipper lobster. It's about 108' deep, but drifting across the area will give you depths from 85' to 125'. N28*32.781 W84*19.650 The closest boat ramp is Cedar Key, but it's only 8 or 9 miles further from Clearwater/Tarpon Springs. This second site is all about the snapper. Mutton, Red, and Yellowtail all abound here. I have never scuba-dived on this site, but pulled up my limit on snapper AND grouper all three times I've been here. I got these numbers from the captain of a Drift boat in Tarpon Springs that shall remain nameless. N28*18.449 W84*06.141 Closest ramps to this one are Anclote or Clearwater. I'm sure some of y'all have more numbers, I just thought I'd share mine.

Re: Florida Middle Grounds
WOW, that's very generous. Thanks Frank, maybe I can make a trip out of it now that we have some numbers.
