Default Motor Shaft Length on Bracket?

I'm new to the outboard motor bracket world. I just purchased a 23' seacraft sceptre and will be putting a bracket on the transom for a 250 hp Suzuki 4-stroke. Can anyone tell me what shaft lengths they use on this size boat, or which ones perform the best? I have fished on a one boat with a bracket before, and it seems that everytime the boat slows down from a plane, the sea will come over top of the hood. I want to avoid this if possible. I appreciate the feed back!

Default Re: Motor Shaft Length on Bracket?

I am going to be redoing a Tsunami in the far far future and I did some research and looked at other setups. I will probably go with a Hermco Bracket and utilize a single 30" shaft.
