Default 1994 johnson 115 question

Helping a friend replace the trim motor on his 115 Johnson and he doesnt have the shop manual. Safe to assume the mounting bracket has to come off? Any tricks I should know about. I have only removed and replaced mine on my Merc. Looks similar only motor is on the other side. And oh yeah the bolts look good and rusted!! Although he's been spraying them. Thanks
