Default estimated painting costs?

Hey guys, maybe not this year but next year I'd like to paint the inside and outside of my 20' CC. Like to start budgeting and am wondering what im looking at for a dollar figure. Ballpark budget? I know many of you have had this done. Thanks

$200 bucks worth of Signature Finish plus some bucks for misc supplies and a bunch of hard work gets the outside done!

It all depends on the final finish you are looking to achieve. if you want a fantastic finish on the exterior and the hull needs some work plan on something like $250/ft including materials. the deck finish is something completely different. If perfection is desired, it could exceed the $300 per foot range. This is of course depending on area and overal condition of the boat as it sits. Given all of this, there is no greater satisfaction than completing the project on your own.

I'm doing the work Mmyself and I'm would say I'm at +/-400 so far that's sand paper glass resin fairing material and I need anther 250+/- in paint. So after I'm done I would say I'm going to spend 1000 to 1300 and that's me doing all the sanding. Andi did I mention I HATE SANDING although I will most likely be closer to 1000 mark
And I have the tools and air compressor but I can badly wait to see the results and someone told me that the prep work is 90% of the job.......Good Luck

I am curious as to what exactly you get for $250 per ft?
Fittings and gauges removed?
Hull primed and painted with Awlgrip/Awlcraft or similar?
A nice smooth flowed out job or not?

I see many times what people's expectations are in the cost of a job, but I wonder how many times people add up what they actually have in the job?

And then, sometimes people really don't have an idea on what the job cost or entails.

I think, if you went to three shops, all of the same quaility, the cost to paint an entire CC boat, in the 20' range, from waterline to rubstrake, to include interior, console and nonskid, you are looking at $500 per foot. Plus or minus. And, that does not include fiberglass repair, just minor blemishes.
And I do suppose it matters what part of the country or state you are in.

Yes pictures are lacking but I've been working on it almost everyday for an hour after I get home from work

I'm at the point that I have 95% done and ready to lay the coat of primer. The floor took forever to get right.

I hope to have it painted compleatly by the end of this month and then start putting it back together/

I will get some pics prior to laying down the primer

I repainted my 20cc with awlgrip inside and out, even used awlgrip sand on my non-skid. I spent between 1500-2000 on materials and painted it myself.

What we charge depends on the boat and the amount of overall work that needs to be completed. $200 a foot is for the hull sides, filling small holes and scratches. Sanding the entire boat, priming sanding to a 220 finish and spraying 3 coats of paint. What is acheived is a finish that has little orange peel with a high luster that to date has stood up for at least 7 years with washes and awlcare being the only variable. The estimate of $500 a foot for the entire boat is actually about correct. What we spent on my 23 was 250 man hours of glasswork, fairing, priming, filling, re-priming, fairing again and painting. Remember 90% of the work is in the prep, pulling the trigger is easy part.
