Cool To do or not to do!!!

Alright guys here is the deal. My 71 20' sf right now is pretty much in mint condition after the guy i bought it off of re did the whole boat in 09 and once i bought it i pretty much re did the whole boat again. I was browsing around THT and came across tuna meltdowns build of his doghouse (which looks great by the way) and thought to myself my boat would be bad a$$ with one of these, BUT i have no experience with fiberglass work. A couple of my friends are commercial crabbers and they said they would all help me glass the doghouse once i got done building it. Now the next thing i need an opinion on is would it be ok to through bolt the doghouse into my existing console??? A lot of thoughts are coming to mind with this project and in the end im just scared to mess my boat up when currently its in great condition. If i was to go ahead with this project i would want the doghouse to only make the boat look ten times better not be half a$$ and have a negative effect. I fish the northeast and sometimes it gets down right nasty so even on my seacraft i get a little wet. With the doghouse all my electronics would stay out of the elements and also me! lol Im going to attach some photos of my boats console as it sits now, tuna meltdowns doghouse I want to copy but fit to my console and boat, and a photoshop pic of what my boat would look like with the doghouse on it! Please comment if you have any info, concerns, advice, etc etc. Thanks

In my opinion I would not do a dog house on that boat. You live in a pretty tame part of the NE in comparison to N Jersey, LI and Mass. It gets real cold early up here so dog houses sort of make sense. Also the 20 is a bit small for a full fledged dog house. Don't see how the proportions would work and still look good on that size boat. Did you think about a t-top with full curtains? That would keep you and your crew dryer in snotty conditions. Also you can pull them down to enjoy summer breezes.

2 cents.
