'74 20' SF SeaCraft facelift
I just completed a partial facelift on my '74 20' SF SeaCraft and no way am I claiming it to be more than that! Everything got painted except the console and floor, and it got the following: new decals, swim platform, hatch hinges, compass, Lowrance, interior console shelf, and a few other things. It is one of my favorite boats in all of many years of boating and those of you who own them or have owned them know why!

Fabulous job for a facelift! I hope mine comes out 1/10th that good.
Is that an early-mid 2000's vintage Johnson on there? What is the hp? Do you have performance stats? I just mounted a 2002 115hp on my 1972 20' Seafari and was wondering if yours was similar? |

Thanks for all of the nice comments! The motor is a 115 hp Johnson that I purchased new in 2001 to go on a 1984 Hydrostream! I sold it in 2010 and put the Johnson on this boat! The decals peeled of the motor about two years ago! At 4,200 RPM, it cruises close to 25 mph

Thanks for the stats. What prop are you running? last question - how is your fuel consumption?
From the photo it looks like that is a 20 inch motor/transom? Mine is the 25 inch version with the large V6 gearcase. |

I have a 14 x 17 on it now and it does a good job coming out the hole and at top end!
I think I have an original, 20" transom. I always keep it vented when it is on the trailer or on the lift in an effort to keep it as dry as possible! If I ever have to replace it, I will probably go to a 25" transom also! As for fuel consumption, best guess is around 3 mpg. I got 5 mpg when this motor was on my Hydrostream and it would do 69+ knots or go too d#$& fast! Hope this helps! |

Thanks for the info. I am a month or more away from splashing mine, so no performance data yet.
