Default New Ramp Fee's

The City of New Smyrna Beach, FL. has just started a new "user fee"
for the three city boat ramps. The charge is $20 a day !!!

Where as the residents of the state that live with in the FIND (Florida Inland
Navigation District) are entitled to two free passes.. As they with the County of Volusia Port Authority funded the ramps..

You have to register or you will be fined and towed. It has to be renewed yearly.
Copies of your Florida property tax bill, Utility bill, vehicle registration and a copy of your FL drivers license have to be uploaded to the NSB website where I high lighted the link above...

As all of us know that boat ramps all over the state are maxed out..
On weekends the Orlando / Ocala crowd comes over here and you guessed it
"Ramp Rage" ensues.... Those guys are not going to be happy with
the new fee !

So if you live in the FIND district and want to use our ramps here go ahead and register, its free..

Dang.....$20? What they thinking, it's the Keys?? Our county ramps are now a $5 "user fee" which seems fair. For $20 they must be some mighty fine ramps.

Its $10 in Palm Beach, unless you have a handicap sticker and then its free. It used to be free, but when the recession hit in 2009, they put in a fee to help offset decreased tax revenue. Our parks are all still free, but now that the recession is over, do you think they rescinded the ramp fee. NO!

Yeah, I saw them putting in the pay kiosk at swoops last time I was there. If you know the right people at the state (Dept. of Agriculture) getting an annual pass for ramps is not that hard to come by.

Guys, be glad you are not in Jersey. The closest ramp to me, the Borough of Sayreville, on the Raritan River, charges $15/ use for residents, $30.00/use for non-residents. The Season pass is $150 for residents. The ramp is pretty nice though, and has space to launch 4 boats at a time.
