Default What year's are the original hull?

I know that 1970-1980 maybe 81, 82 are original SeaCraft potter hulls. I had a 1973 Tsunami (sold it) now I might restore a center console. My father had an 85 SeaCraft years ago and it was beautifull. I loved that boat. Is it the same quality? What should I watch out for?

Potter didn't get involved with Seacraft until May of 1968. Original boat was designed and built by Carl Moseley in 1961, and he continued to build them until Potter got involved in '68.
However, I don't think that boats over 20 or 21 feet were built until Potter took over, which would make him the original designer and builder of the 23'CC talked about so much on this site.
I have no proof about the boats over 21 feet, but the guys on this site should know. Just out of curiousity, Who on the site has the oldest 23 foot boat? That should give us some idea as to when they started building them.

The Original SeaCrafts were designed and built in Miami, Fla. Carl & Jean Moesly owned the company. They later sold to Bill Potter. My father and the Moesly's still keep in touch. My father sold over 150 SeaCrafts here n south Florida. We had a Mercury Outboard Dealership in Palm BEach Gardens from 1968 thru the 80's. He also drove a SeaCraft in the Original Bahama 500 Offshore Race in the late 60's. It was powered by Triple Mercury Inline Six Outboards.

There is an original owner of a 1972 23 c/c (i/o)across the canal from me. That is the oldest 23 I am aware of around here but not saying that it is the oldest. craig
