Default high center console

I am looking at purchasing a 1978 20' with a very high center console would this have been stock or was it changed?Any photos of high consoles??
Also is the best way to check the transom to tap it and listen to the sound.

just went through this myself.If You can gey to the inside of the transom drill a few small hole in various places check for water & check the drill bit !Dry wood NO rot Wet wood Prob.'s.
Mark and fill all holes w/ gel coat marine tex etc.Don't leave any unfilled are You will have Problems !!Capt.Brad

turbo Don't drill all the way thru !!!!
lift the motor up lock bounce on it.
