Looks original to me too. The seats are definitely new and maybe the rod racks were replaced, but everything else looks '78 to me. Finster has a point, if it were restored, then the asking price would/should be much higher.

Jim - when you say the helm panel is not the full width, do you mean how far the panel is set back from the wheel? If so, the panel on this boat is where it should be. The Potter 23 Sceptres had a panel set further back than the CSY 23 Sceptres.

Pretty much everything does look '78. Those are the same rod racks my CC had and the vinyl Gunnel trim I'm looking for

It appears the scrub brush is 2002

This is the stock helm panel:

The cleat is not marinium, and the rod rack is missing the horizontal shelf

This is the stock cleat and rod rack:

It's still a beautiful boat.

Those cleats seem to match the SS cleats on my boat (original eq). Mine is titled as a 1979, though the outer hull was struck in Sept. 78 according to the Hull ID. It differs from a buddy's 78 (20' MA too, but hull ID indicates May 1978) in a number of respects including a 25" transom, SS cleats and hardware.

My long winded point is that I think there was some sort of hardware transition in 78 - 79 going from marinum to SS, so I would not disqualify the boat as original based on that.

Guys,

That boat is stock....The only thing that looks different at all is the panel for the sterring helm.

A couple of trim things were added, but she looks like she may have been in a hi and dry program her whole life. There is little to know sun damage or pitting in the aluminum.

The seat bases are completely stock/original ( maybe new uphols. ). And, are a great indication of the how clean she is.

This boat, I bet, is a one of those rare gems !!!
