Thanks Otto, Got distracted and did not see the attchment on the first look. Work keeps getting in the way of real important stuff..like boats. Any idea of the value of the boat? Any comments on if I replace the cc or should I restore the old one?

if it were mine, which it's not, I'd go ahead and change out the console to something a bit more current and user friendly if you have already been thinking about it. I wouldn't worry about that type of change affecting value, people very often substantially modify "collectible" SeaCrafts (Potter era) and it likely adds value rather than detracts from it (brackets, new consoles, higher floors, higher transoms, etc).
