Re: 98 21 seacraft
I have a 2000 SC 21- great boat, I love it- have 200 optimax on it- very fast- do alot of ocean fishing and very seaworthy boat- only thing I'm not crazy about is the in deck live well- always fills with water from rain/washdowns and you must keep dry in hot weather to avoid going green- console access to add electronics is tight but overall I highly recommend it

Re: 98 21 seacraft
I've fished on that model and it seems like a nice layout. I liked it enough that I basically had it duplicated when my 20' was redone

Re: 98 21 seacraft
Have one of these, owned it since February 2004, great stable fishing boat, just had some engine issues with the 200 dfi (not opti), true about the livewell, good height on the gunwales.

Re: 98 21 seacraft
I use to own the boat that I think elpez now has,and I really, really miss that boat! I fished her 60 miles offshore in Ocean City Md , and from New Smyrna Beach to Pensacola and here in Key West and it was Killer. The livewell can be a bit of a pain, but just pump it dry and plug it if your in the water and you won't have the green funk problem.I saw one on the boat trader for I think 19K,and was thiking about it,but Mark already calls me the "fleet owner" so I'd better down size first.

Re: 98 21 seacraft
I have a 2003 21 with a 200 Merc efi. I have also owned a 1969 20 Seacraft center console and a 23 1977 Sceptre. Needless to say I love Seacrafts. I really like the 21 as I think it is the perfect size for fishing offshore and in shore as well. I agree with the others the biggest pain is the livewell. It rides great especially once you learn to use the tabs properly. The only question I would have is the 225 Opti. They were fairly new back then but if the bugs have been worked out it may be just fine.
Joey tell me how you plug the livewell to keep the water out. On mine any rainwater finds its way in and accumulates until I pump it out. |

Re: 98 21 seacraft
bj,the rain water is an issue .I was speaking of pumping out the water after using the well, rather than leaving it as I have seen folks do and the well becoming green and nasty.
