Are there really no Harley forum sites?

I would happily start a forum if you want, just tell me what domain name you want and I will put it up on the server.

As for Harleys although I have never been on one I do have a very strong connection to the company as my Grandfather, Svend Heiberg and his good Friend Axel Svanea were two of the first to go around the world on a Motorcycle, a Harley with a sidecar (the sidecar was for toting spare parts)

They started in Denmark sometime in the early 1920's and went around westward through deserts and who knows what else, hopping aboard freighters when they hit ocean, when they crossed the states they stopped into the then small Harley Factory, Harley having no idea who they were were astounded that someone was attempting to go around the world on their bikes.

I have a picture somewhere of their return in Denmark, Although I never met my Grandfather, passed away in the 60's, I have heard some of the most amazing stories from their trip.

Always open to new Ideas

Well, since we're talking gearhead-type pursuits here.
What does a midlife crisis-aged father of a gearhead-inclined 15 year old boy do in the winter when it's too cold to fiberglass his Seacraft and it won't fit in the garage?

He gets himself in Waaaay over his head of course

Now THAT'S a project! How long does it take to finish something like that - 2 years?

Otto -
You're probably about right, my son just turned 15 so 1-1/2 years or so would be perfect. It's a good way to spend the cold months, but I don't think it will get much of my attention in the summer - but Greg is another story
We've only had it a couple weeks now, and we already have it off the frame. This week end I cut out the floor from firewall to bed on the drivers side. The cutting out and welding in all the sheetmetal is gonna take all the time.
I'm at my wits end trying to calculate how many beer project this is
Oh btw, I woke up to 7" of snow Sat morning
